I am a free-lance writer. Among the publications that have seen my byline are Smoke & Fire News, General Aviation News,
the Eastern Shore Milestone and the Annapolis Capital.
Previously, I worked for the USEPA and later for both the Baltimore Sun and the Annapolis Capital as an editorial assistant
and as an in-house free-lance contributor.
Finally, I was the editor of Inside SAHE, a monthly newsletter for an Annapolis-based section of the Sierra Club. There
I combined both hard copy and Internet resources to publish material related to forest resources, water and air quality, and
activism.
When I was employed at Anne Arundel Community College, in Arnold, MD working as the assistant director for the Center
for the Study of Local Issues, I helped to prepare and support preparations and conduct of committee and public meetings.
In my other jobs, I had rather less to do with meeting, although they did call for a fair share of interaction with the public,
such as sorting out problems with press releases or fielding complaints.
My Favorites
Favorite Band or Musician: Jazz
Favorite TV show: SciFi, History, Food, BBC America. These are cable channels but otherwise there are rather a lot of
shows I enjoy.
Favorite movie: Action flicks, comedies, animation, SF
Favorite book: history, SF, urban fantasy, historical fiction, collecting signed books
Favorite sports team: not as such but I do watch the Olympics - Summer & Winter, & and lately, the World Cup on
the rare occasion the American Men win a game. The Womens' team is pretty good. I guess that football the way its played elsewhere
is just too much for the Yank Men.
Favorite food: the stuff I cook especially. As for the rest, I've been getting adventurous in my old age, so there's really
not a lot that I will turn up my nose at. Chocolate and pasta are high on the list - though not on the same plate and not
always at the same meal.
My Hobbies
Military history, local history, movies, music, science fiction, amateur nature photography, and collecting books,preferably
autographed.
